Update: 2/11/2021 – Well, it’s baaaack! After a fan-copied audio of the track from the Howard Stern show was pulled from YouTube it has now been officially released: Wolfgang Van Halen’s second release off of his upcoming album is now available to listen. “You’re to Blame” features the former Van Halen bassist on all vocals and instruments.
The song features a modern hard rock sound with a slight Tool influence, especially in the beginning and what I believe is an absolute killer guitar solo. The young man definitely has music in his DNA and if the first two songs he has released (the other one being “Distance” – a tribute to his father, Edward Van Halen) are any indication, he could be a force in the music world. On another note: Van Halen has named his new band “Mammoth WVH.”
The release coincides with Mammoth WVH’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight at 11:30 (EST) on ABC.

With what seems to be a resurgence in Rock in the last few years, I can only hope that with artists like the up and coming Wolfgang Van Halen, Rock can take back its place in the hearts of listeners.
