Explorer1 Music, who recently agreed to represent former Judas Priest guitarist KK Downing has announced a global partnership with Wolfgang Van Halen. According to the Explorer1 press release:
“Wolfgang is in the final stages of writing and recording in the iconic 5150 studios with producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette (Alter Bridge/Slash/Tremonti/Sevendust). Wolfgang is completing a collection of diverse material.”
Van Halen stated on the creation of this album; “I’ve always loved the whole Dave Grohl story of how he started Foo Fighters and just did a whole demo album by himself. I’d love to do that,” Van Halen said. “I feel like I can play drums, bass, guitar, kinda sing, I guess. I can kinda decide whatever I want to do. I feel like it’s just kind of open-ended. I definitely would like to be a drummer in a band at some point. There’s no limit, really.”
No release date for the album has been announced. You can read the full press release from Explorer 1 on Billboard’s website here.
