The Tedeschi Trucks Band
March 27, 2020 (updated 4/12/2020) – With so many live shows being either postponed or canceled, musicians have taken to streaming concerts during the Corona outbreak to keep their fans engaged. Others are making pre-recorded shows available online to be viewed. Here are some examples:
As reported here, Metallica is streaming a pre-recorded live show each week beginning this past Monday. Check their YouTube channel and Facebook page each Monday night to watch the latest concert. Here is the first one, from their live show at Slane Castle, Ireland in 2019.
Steve Vai is doing a series of live performances of his most well-known songs. You can catch the first one here:
Joe Satriani is doing this as well. He did his first live Facebook presentation earlier this week. You can view it below:
Martin Guitars is sponsoring a series of live broadcast on their Facebook page. There is one scheduled for today at 2PM (EST) featuring John Oates of Hall and Oates fame:
The Tedeschi-Trucks Band is streaming LIVE shows on Facebook and nugs.tv. This included a pre-recorded show from The Beacon Theatre in 2019 streamed last night. You can see and hear some really good guitar playing from Derek Trucks and his band. More shows will be forthcoming every Thursday night.
Devon Allman of The Allman Betts Band is streaming three shows a week on Facebook and making the show available on Facebook and Instagram the following day. The shows will feature various artists as well as himself. You can view the first show here. You can also leave a donation in the Tip Jar to help support all the people who help make their live shows possible. Note: he doesn’t actually begin the show until about 13 minutes into the stream. The next show is tonight (3/27/2020) at 7PM here with Jackson Stokes. I’ve seen Stokes live and he can play some guitar!
Damon Johnson – formerly of the bands Brother Cane, Thin Lizzy and Black Star Riders will be conducting his first live stream show on Wednesday, April 15 at 7PM (CDT) on his Facebook page. Entitled “Wishpool Wednesday”, he will be doing an “all Brother Cane” set. Be sure and check his page for more upcoming shows.
There was an excellent live show performed by Country artists Marty Stuart, Vince Gill, and Brad Paisley last Saturday at The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN on The Circle Network. This was also streamed live on Youtube and is available to view here. Paisley also did a nice tribute to Kenny Rodgers during the song “This is Country Music” and is worth checking out. The channel will be playing live shows every Saturday night at 8PM with a rebroadcast at 9PM without an audience for the duration of the outbreak. Tomorrow night’s concert will feature Vince Gill and Amy Grant.
Elton John will be hosting the “iHeart Living Room Concert for America” this Sunday night, 3/29 on the Fox Network. You can also listen to it live, radio stations nationwide, and via the iHeartRadio app. Also appearing will be Alicia Keys, Backstreet Boys, Billie Eilish, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Camila Cabello, Dave Grohl, H.E.R., Mariah Carey, Sam Smith, and Tim McGraw, from their own living rooms. The iHeartRadio Living Room Concert for America will also feature guest appearance from celebrities like Ciara, Demi Lovato, Lizzo, Russell Wilson and more. OK, besides Billie Joe Armstrong, Grohl and Tim McGraw it’s not a guitar-oriented concert but it does benefit first responders and right now, that is most important.
Check back here for additional streaming concert listings. We will add additional artist’s live streams throughout the duration of this emergency.
Be sure and check out the latest news such from Ritchie Faulkner, Joe Satriani, Greta Van Fleet, George Lynch and more. Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter!
