Greta Van Fleet was formed in 2012 and consists of the brothers Jake, Josh and Sam Kiszka on guitar, vocals and bass/keyboards, respectively. The group is rounded out by Danny Wagner on drums. They became known initially for the song “Highway Tune” in 2017, which harkened back to the days of Led Zeppelin. Subsequent hits such as “Safari Song” and “When the Curtain Falls” all reached the top of the Billboard charts. They won a Grammy for best Rock album for “From the Fires”, an EP released the year before. Their album “Anthem of the Peaceful Army” reached number one (#1) on the Billboard Rock charts.
They have a huge following among both older and younger listeners. Their live shows are more often than not sold out, with tickets selling out in record times. A recent show in Asbury Park, New Jersey sold out in less than an hour and the owner of the venue stated it was the fastest selling show in the club’s history.
You can preorder “The Battle at Garden’s Gate” now on amazon.com and other outlets. Go to gretavanfleet.com for more information. With the April release, I expect a full tour will be announced as the current Covid-19 pandemic should be in it’s waning stages at that point. Let’s hope so. America needs to get back to live concerts!
Be sure and check out tour dates for Badflower, The Marcus King Band, Michael Schenker, Mammoth WVH, Guns and Roses and more. Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter! Enjoy the show!
