September 25, 2020. Five-time Grammy award winner Christ Stapleton will perform via livestream on Saturday, September 26th as part of Farm Aid 2020. The virtual concert will also feature such acts as Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews. The goal of the Farm Aid benefit, according to their website is: “to bring together a wide variety of artists, farmers and fans for one mission: keeping family farmers on the land. Farm Aid is an all-day festival that brings together incredible music, good food and hands-on activities to get folks in touch with the roots of our food. Since 1985, Farm Aid has raised $60 million to help family farmers thrive all over the country while inspiring millions of people to take part in the Good Food Movement.”
The broadcast will be carried live on AXS TV starting at 8PM EST as well as on Apple TV, Sirius XM channel 59 (Willie’s Roadhouse) and channel 30 (Dave Matthews Band channel.) You can also view the concert online at the Farm Aid YouTube Channel.
Donations to benefit farmers can be made on the Farm Aid website. Donations of $75 dollars (US) or more will receive a Farm Aid 2020 t-shirt.
Stapleton, in addition to the Grammy awards, has co-written six number-one songs performed by artists such as Kenny Chesney, Josh Turner, George Strait, and Luke Bryan. In addition he has also co-written songs with artists such as Vince Gill, Peter Frampton, Sheryl Crow and Ed Sheeran. His crossover hit “Midnight Train to Memphis” was featured steadily on both the Country and Rock radio stations and he played the song live on Saturday Night Live.
