December 24, 2020 – The Allman Betts Band will perform as part of a livestream event Saturday, January 23rd at 9PM (EST.) They will perform at “The Big Love Benefit Concert.” The Concert features Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen and his wife Lauren Monroe, Wynona Judd, Tommy Shaw, Myles Kennedy and more.
The Allman Betts Band was formed in 2018 and has released two albums: “Down to the River” in 2019 and “Bless Your Heart” in 2020. They were founded by Devon Allman and Duane Betts who are the sons of Allman Brother Band founder Duane Allman and guitarist Dickey Betts. They are also joined by bassist Berry Oakley Jr., son of Allman Brothers Band member Berry Oakley.
Rick Allen joined Def Leppard at age fifteen and has remained with the band ever since, even after a tragic car accident that severed his left arm. He re-learned to play the drums and never missed a concert or album because of the accident.
Billy Idol became a Rock superstar in the eighties with hits like “White Wedding“, “Rebel Yell” and “Dancin’ with Myself” and has retained his popularity over the years. His guitarist – Steve Stevens has been with him his entire career as a solo artist.
Tommy Shaw is a long-standing member of Styx, penning a number of their hits as well as being a member of “Damn Yankees” in the eighties with Ted Nugent and having a solo career.
Myles Kennedy has had a long career as a singer for bands such as Alter Bridge and Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators featuring Guns and Roses guitarist Slash.
All proceeds will go to the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, which provides financial assistance to the millions of music industry professionals who are out of work due to COVID-19.
